State of the Association!

Fellow Squatches!
It is at this time of year where again we have to reflect upon what has been accomplished in our world of Gears and Gravel. Our club was formed of a kinship for the SxS lifestyle and to a great degree we have put 'side by sides' and 'side by side' dealerships on the map here in the Lower Mainland. Not to say that there is 'no room for improvement'.

We took out inaugural ride with an impressive turn out. And we have managed a club run on almost every month since. At times was not easy. For many members there were other events which demanded riding time as well. We had a lot of fun and will continue to do so .

This upcoming year will be filled with fun and new challenges! But as we make a presence in the atv / SxS world known we will face new demands on our time and involvement. There will be a need to call for higher unity with regard to our goals as an entity.

And this is where your input is paramount. After all, it is your club. How do you want others to see us? How do you want we ourselves to see us?

I think that thus far we have done wonderful things as a fledgling group. But future events will demand even more commitment. We will be called upon by the atv-ing community, at large, to sponsor, promote and host events! We will have to promote the club on a constant basis in each of our communities in order to gain sponsorships. This will also mean working more closely with other atving clubs and being a presence at their events.

Club designs and logos should be more in view on our riding apparel. We need to do fund raisers to pay for such. We should be more of a presence as well in the community.Branding and any form of PR is a necessity for getting the club known. This in turn leads to sponsorship. At this date we have our first sposor, but we need more if we are to find the money to grow.

The face of atv-ing is rapidly changing, just as the world of atv riding. Trails are closing, while other trails, new and old, are being opened by the efforts of SWATT. These efforts are a necessity, as we see more and more of our playground absorbed by business and eco-groups. We need to be of a higher profile to make our voices heard. Otherwise, I am quite certain that the only places left open to the public will be Pegleg and Gill, and parts of Chipmunk! ( How boring will that be? )

And a prime way of making our voices heard is by self promotion within the community, which will educate the community at large with regard to the SxS lifestyle. This is where your ideas on the subject need to be expressed within the club.Do you have a pet community project that the club could help you with? For the remainder of this riding year and for the next one to come, the adventure will be for you to challenge yourself as to how best to contribute to this wonderful pastime and this club.

It has been a lot of fun, and to will be even more in the future.!

I got to go now! My Mommy is calling me in to dinner!

Ride Safe!
